Introduction of the B251 Pro
Bigme has unveiled the B251 Pro, a color e-ink monitor with a 25.3-inch size and a resolution of 3200 x 1800.
This monitor stands out due to its claimed refresh rate of 60 FPS, double the previous record for e-ink technology.
Specifications and Features
The B251 Pro has 145 DPI, surpassing the 92 to 93 PPI typical of 24-inch Full HD displays.
It supports 4096 colors and 16 gray levels, which is still limited compared to standard monitors.
Connectivity options include HDMI, DP, and wireless screen mirroring, along with remote control support.
Limitations of E-Ink Technology
Despite the advancements, the B251 Pro is not aimed at gaming due to slow pixel response rates and image quality issues during motion.
It may serve better for text-heavy workloads, potentially alleviating eye strain during extended use.
Market Position and Pricing
The monitor is priced at $1,279, which may deter budget-conscious consumers, especially given the prices of traditional monitors with 4K capabilities.
Bigme's entry highlights ongoing innovation in e-ink technology, but practical usability remains to be fully assessed.
