Short version: we collect the minimum needed to personalize your feed, we keep it to ourselves, and we don't sell it or run third-party ads or trackers.
Account. If you sign in, we store your email address, when you joined, and the preferences you set: topics and keywords you follow, sources you mute, stories you save, and your email-digest setting.
Reading activity. We log which stories are viewed, opened, searched for and listened to. For visitors who aren't signed in, this is tied only to an anonymous random id โ not to a name or email.
Activity and preferences power the personalized "For you" feed (e.g. demoting stories you've already read), the Following feed, and aggregate usage stats that help us improve the product. Nothing is shared with or sold to third parties, and there is no third-party analytics or advertising on the site.
Two first-party cookies only: bf_sid, a random anonymous id used for the
activity log (1 year), and a session cookie that keeps you signed in. No tracking
cookies. The only third-party requests the site makes are for fonts (Google Fonts).
Your email is used solely for sign-in and โ only if you opt in โ the daily or weekly digest. You can switch the digest off at any time from your profile. No marketing mail.
You can unfollow, unmute, unsave and switch off the digest yourself at any time. If you want your account and its data deleted, ask us and we'll remove it.
BrevFeed is currently a pre-release preview and this note will grow into a full privacy policy (with a named data controller and contact address) before public launch. Last updated July 2026.
