Hinge has announced the introduction of a feature known as Friend's Take, which allows users to enhance their dating profiles by incorporating testimonials. These testimonials can be provided by friends, family, or colleagues, offering insights into the user's character.

How the Feature Works

Users can access the Friend's Take feature through the Edit Profile tab in the Hinge app. By tapping on the feature, they can generate a link to send to their chosen contacts. Those who receive the link can respond to specific prompts, facilitating a more personalized testimonial process. Each invitation link is valid for three days or until ten testimonials are submitted.

Profile Customization and Authenticity

Hinge users can select up to three testimonials to showcase on their profiles, which can be updated at any time. This new option is intended to enhance the authenticity of profiles, as many users express a desire for more genuine representations through feedback from people who know them well.

Market Response and User Engagement

Hinge's decision to implement this feature stems from user research, indicating that 71 percent of users would appreciate assistance with their profiles. However, only 46 percent report actually seeking such help. The Friend's Take feature aims to bridge this gap by making it easier for users to obtain and display supportive testimonials.
