Overview of the Alienware AW3926QW
Alienware has introduced the AW3926QW, a new 39-inch 5K ultrawide OLED gaming monitor. This display is designed to offer an immersive viewing experience with its expansive screen and high resolution.
The monitor features a 5120x2160 resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. It also includes a mode to switch to 1080p+ at 330Hz, catering to different gaming needs.
Key Display Features
A notable aspect of the AW3926QW is its vertical screen space. Unlike many ultrawide monitors that prioritize width, this model provides 2,160 vertical pixels, comparable to a 32-inch 4K screen. This increased height aims to enhance usability and immersion.
The display utilizes the latest OLED technology, offering a bright, sharp, and colorful image. It is also noted for its accurate color reproduction and smooth motion processing with low input lag.
Design and Performance
The monitor's design includes premium styling and build quality. It supports multiple eSports modes, allowing users to optimize settings for competitive play.
Out-of-the-box color accuracy is reported to be high, with no immediate need for calibration. While generally well-received, one minor issue noted is a slightly light gamma, with gamma options limited to a single picture mode.
Market Positioning
The AW3926QW positions itself in the ultrawide market by offering a balance of width and vertical space. While some competitors offer larger 49-inch screens, those often have fewer vertical pixels (typically 1,440).
This Alienware monitor aims to provide a 'sweet spot' for users seeking a large ultrawide display that also offers substantial vertical screen real estate for both gaming and productivity.
