Asus has initiated pre-orders for its new ROG Xbox Ally X20 handheld gaming device. The device will be available for purchase starting October 15. Customers can find the new Ally X20 at the Asus Store and Best Buy.

Pricing and Bundle Options

The ROG Xbox Ally X20 is priced at $1,299.99 for the standalone unit. An alternative bundle option is available for $2,499.99, which includes the ROG Xreal R1 Edition 20 AR glasses, a dbrand Killswitch case, and a custom Pelican case. Initially, only the bundle was announced, but Asus later confirmed a standalone version would also be offered.

Key Upgrades and Features

The new ROG Xbox Ally X20 features an OLED screen, addressing a drawback of the original model. Other enhancements include a translucent shell, a transforming D-Pad (from 4-way to 8-way), TMR joysticks, and rubberized grips. The internal processor remains the AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme, consistent with the previous version.

Bundle Accessories

The $2,499.99 bundle includes several accessories. The dbrand Killswitch case provides black and gold accents with a built-in kickstand. The Pelican case is a black box with red latches and a black-and-gold ROG 20th Anniversary logo. The ROG Xreal R1 glasses included in the bundle are functionally identical to a previously reviewed version, but with black and gold accents.

The original ROG Xbox Ally X, released in fall 2025, is currently priced at $999.99. The ROG Xbox Ally X20 was initially announced at Computex as part of Asus's twentieth-anniversary ROG lineup, which also includes various computer components, a monitor, keyboard, mouse, router, and NUC mini PC.
