Belgian Startup Any Launches LUV1 Modular Electric Motorcycle with Cargo Capacity

Introducing the LUV1 Electric Motorcycle

Belgian startup Any has unveiled its first product, the LUV1, a modular electric motorcycle. The LUV1 is designed to offer the cargo capacity typically found in electric cargo bikes while maintaining a top speed of 100 km/h (62 mph). This design aims to provide a solution for urban mobility that can carry significant loads without sacrificing speed or versatility.

Cargo and Modularity Features

The LUV1 features a storage capacity of up to 120 liters, addressing the need for carrying groceries, weekend bags, or other items. Its modular design allows customers to choose between an open frame or one with various panels, accommodating needs such as transporting pets, work equipment, or camping gear. Additional modular options include a windshield, racks, and a rain poncho, making it adaptable for different users like commuters, families, or outdoor enthusiasts.

Design and Development

The modular design of the LUV1 is the creation of Lowie Vermeersch, former design director at Pininfarina and founder of Granstudio. Vermeersch also serves as Any's creative director and is an investor in the startup. The LUV1 prototype gained attention during its unveiling at Milan Design Week in May, and the collaboration aims to establish a new category of "life utility vehicles."

Pricing and Licensing

The LUV1 is priced starting at €7,000 (approximately $8,150), positioning it as a more affordable alternative to cars and comparable to higher-end electric cargo bikes. A key differentiator is its requirement for only an A1 license, which is generally easier to obtain. The final price will vary based on custom options selected through Any's online configurator. Following its Milan debut, Any has secured over 600 pre-orders for the LUV1.
