Current "Send As" Functionality

Currently, Gmail allows users to add up to 99 different email addresses for sending. The setup process involves adding the address, verifying it through a confirmation message, and then selecting it from the "From" line when composing an email. For work or school accounts, SMTP server details are required during setup.

Recipient View and Limitations

When sending from an alias, recipients using services like Outlook might see "From yourname@gmail.com on behalf of othername@otherdomain.com." Additionally, the original @gmail.com address may be visible if out-of-office replies are set, filters with automated responses are active, or the mailbox is full. Users can remove invalid or unwanted aliases from their Gmail settings.
