Google highlighted recent AI advancements, emphasizing their application in scientific research and societal improvement. The company stated that its technologies now support more than 300 languages, reaching 86% of the global population. This announcement was accompanied by the release of the AI & Economy ATLAS, an interactive insight tool detailing real-world AI usage globally.

Key Scientific Advancements

Among the specific AI developments mentioned, Google introduced AlphaGenome Atlas, which maps the predicted impact of 9 billion single-letter genetic changes across the human genome and is openly available to researchers. WeatherNext 3, Google's latest weather model, provides 50% more accurate precipitation forecasts a day or more in advance and is integrated into Google products. Additionally, the Planetary Prediction Engine combines data on global health, food security, and socioeconomics to forecast crises, having been used in the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and for identifying vulnerable communities in the U.S.

Google also noted its AI research efforts to reduce the climate impact of aviation, with applications already in use in the U.K. and Asia.
