The company filed data breach notification letters with the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office, though the total number of affected individuals and the detection date were not initially disclosed.

Scope of Exposed Information

The compromised data varied by individual but could include names, email addresses, physical addresses, phone numbers, national ID numbers, and financial information. Specifically, for 436 Hasbro employees in Massachusetts, the breach exposed Social Security numbers, financial account information, credit/debit card numbers, and driver's license information, according to the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office 2026 Data Breach Notification Report.

Response and Remediation

Hasbro implemented containment and remediation measures, which included disabling the compromised employee account, terminating unauthorized access, and deploying additional safeguards. The company has not yet confirmed if customers were affected or if a ransom demand was made.

Previous Cyberattack and Financial Impact

This disclosure follows a separate cyberattack in early April that occurred on March 28, forcing Hasbro to take some systems offline. That incident resulted in approximately $25 million in lost revenue for the company. Hasbro has not indicated any connection between the March cyberattack and the recently disclosed data breach affecting employee information.
