New Insta360 Mic Introduced
Insta360 has launched a new wireless microphone system, simply named the Insta360 Mic. This new offering is priced at $250, filling a product gap between the company's existing Mic Pro and Mic Air models. The release expands Insta360's portfolio of creator products.
Key Features and Specifications
A notable feature of the Insta360 Mic is its expandable microSD card storage, which enables 32-bit float internal recording. The microphone also includes a customizable e-ink display, allowing users to upload personal images, branding, or choose from Insta360-themed illustrations. This e-ink display is a distinguishing characteristic compared to other wireless microphones.
The new Mic incorporates NPU-based processing for background noise reduction, similar to the Mic Pro. It can connect directly to several recent Insta360 cameras, including the Luna Ultra, Luna Pro, X6, and GO Ultra, for 48kHz audio recording without requiring a receiver. One receiver can support up to four microphones, and it is compatible with the Mic Pro.
Positioning in the Product Lineup
The Insta360 Mic is positioned as a midrange option. While it shares audio quality with the Mic Pro, it differs by not including the Mic Pro's triple-mic array. The receivers for the new Mic appear to be identical to those found in existing Mic Pro bundles.
