Bloomberg reports that Ternus has recruited Laura Legros, who retired in 2022 after serving as a Vice President of hardware engineering under Ternus. Upon her return, Legros will assume a vice president role, working across various departments within Apple and reporting directly to Ternus.

Legros's Previous Role and Experience

Before her retirement, Legros was a trusted deputy to Ternus. Her responsibilities included managing product delivery, development schedules, and coordinating engineering teams. She also participated in product launch events, introducing new versions of the MacBook Air in 2018 and the current iPad Air design in 2020.

CEO Transition Preparations

The report also details the ongoing internal preparations for the CEO transition from Tim Cook to John Ternus. Ternus has been shadowing Cook, leading executive meetings, meeting with company leaders, and reviewing product roadmaps for the upcoming year across multiple divisions.
