Key points
- Nacon released the Revolution 5 Unlimited PS5 controller.
- Features a built-in screen for settings and audio mixing.
- Includes asymmetrical TMR thumbsticks and swappable D-pad.
- Compatible with PS5, PC, and Android devices.
New Controller Features
Nacon announced the Revolution 5 Unlimited, an officially licensed PlayStation 5 controller. It includes a built-in screen that allows users to adjust settings such as joystick sensitivity and button remapping directly on the gamepad. The controller also supports mixing audio from multiple sources, enabling users to listen to phone audio and game sounds simultaneously through wired headphones.
Customization and Design
The Revolution 5 Unlimited features asymmetrical TMR thumbsticks, which are designed to be drift-resistant. Both thumbsticks can be customized with alternate heads, and the D-pad is swappable between a classic four-way and an eight-way design. Users can also adjust the controller's balance by inserting 10, 14, or 16-gram weights into the non-slip grips.
Buttons and Triggers
The controller includes shoulder buttons, customizable shortcut buttons, and triggers with adjustable travel. The triggers can be shortened to reduce reaction times in games. Four additional customizable shortcut buttons are located on the back, along with a button for quickly switching between saved profiles.
Compatibility and App Support
While primarily designed for the PS5, the Revolution 5 Unlimited is also compatible with PCs and Android devices. Nacon offers a mobile app for iOS and Android that expands customization options, allowing users to adjust thumbstick response curves, tweak EQ profiles for audio sources, and modify the RGB lighting around the right stick.
Pricing and Availability
The Revolution 5 Unlimited is available for preorder at $229.99 through Nacon's online store. Shipping is expected later this year.
