Nintendo introduces new Switch 2 bundles before console price increase

New Bundles Introduced

Nintendo has unveiled new bundles for its Switch 2 console. These include a Nintendo Switch Sports Resort bundle and a refreshed version of the Mario Kart World package. Both new bundles will come with a 90-day individual Nintendo Switch Online membership, a feature not included in the original Mario Kart World bundle.

Console Price Adjustment

The introduction of these bundles precedes a price increase for the Nintendo Switch 2 console. Effective September 1, the console's price will rise by $50, reaching $500. This adjustment impacts the pricing of the new bundles accordingly.

Mario Kart World Bundle Details

The updated Nintendo Switch 2 and Mario Kart World bundle will be priced at $550, reflecting the console's new price. This bundle, available in late September, is stated to be $38 cheaper than buying the console, game, and Switch Online access separately after the price increase. However, purchasing these items individually now (console at $450, game at $80) would be $12 less than the refreshed bundle price.

Nintendo Switch Sports Resort Bundle

The new Nintendo Switch Sports Resort bundle is scheduled for release on October 22, coinciding with the game's launch. This bundle will cost $530, which Nintendo indicates is a $28 discount compared to buying the components separately. This pricing implies the Nintendo Switch Sports Resort game will cost $50.

Phasing Out Older Offers

An earlier Switch 2 bundle, announced in May, offered a choice of Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, or Pokémon Pokopia. This limited-time offer is likely being phased out as the console's price increase takes effect and new bundles are introduced.
