Ozlo Unveils Sleepbuds 2

Ozlo, a company formed by former Bose engineers, has launched its latest product, the Sleepbuds 2. This new iteration builds upon the original Sleepbuds design, focusing on user feedback to deliver a more refined experience. The Sleepbuds 2 are priced at $279, an increase from the original model's recent price of $249.

Addressing Key Improvements

The Sleepbuds 2 introduce several significant enhancements. Battery life has been extended to 14 hours, a notable increase from the previous 10 hours. The charging case now provides enough power for two to three nights of use and includes a button for direct control of sleep sounds or alarms. Bluetooth connectivity has been improved with a redesigned antenna and extender, promising a more reliable connection and longer range.

Enhanced Audio and New Features

The audio system in Sleepbuds 2 has been updated with a built-in amplifier for better sound masking and overall sound quality. Personalized sound tuning is also a new addition, optimizing audio for specific scenarios like Spoken Word, Airplane mode, and Focus mode, in addition to a Balanced mode. A new feature called Sleep Shield blocks incoming calls, alerts, notifications, and Bluetooth audio streaming to prevent disturbances.

Legacy and Evolution

Ozlo's co-founders, N.B. Patil, Brian Mulcahey, and Charlie Taylor, were instrumental in Bose's original Sleepbuds program. They acquired the research and intellectual property to continue the product line after Bose exited the category. The original Ozlo Sleepbuds, launched in late 2024, have garnered over 200,000 customers and were designed to be smaller and more comfortable for sleeping than standard earbuds, offering features like built-in sleep sounds, passive noise blocking, and sleep tracking.
