Shure Releases MV6 Gen 2 USB Gaming Microphone with Enhanced Audio Controls

Shure has launched the MV6 USB Gaming Microphone Gen 2, an update to its existing USB microphone. This new iteration is designed to provide creators and gamers with more control over their audio settings, addressing feedback from users of the original model.

Design and Connectivity Improvements

The MV6 Gen 2 maintains a similar design to its predecessor but introduces a new all-white color option and a longer 2-meter USB-C cable for increased flexibility in desk setups. It includes a vibration-minimizing base, boom arm compatibility, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a mute button for direct audio monitoring and control.

The microphone offers broad compatibility, connecting to Mac, PC, and Android devices via USB-C, and to iPhone and iPad through MFI certification.

Enhanced Software Control

Significant changes are present in the MV6 Gen 2's software capabilities. While the original model offered a denoiser and automatic volume leveling, the Gen 2 provides users with greater customization. Users can now adjust their voice's prominence in the audio mix and control the microphone's reaction speed to volume changes. The real-time denoiser is also adjustable, allowing users to set the level of background noise reduction.

All settings, including customizable EQ and mic presets for various uses like speech, singing, and instruments, are managed through Shure's free Motiv app.

The Shure MV6 Gen 2 is available starting September 30 for $169. It can be purchased directly from Shure or through authorized retailers. This pricing positions it as an alternative in the USB microphone market.
