This integration aims to provide a stable and long-term environment for the continued development and maintenance of Tailwind CSS, which is currently installed over 110 million times per week and used by major companies like ChatGPT, X, Cloudflare, and Reddit.

Continued Open-Source Commitment

Despite the acquisition, Tailwind CSS and all other open-source projects from Tailwind Labs will remain MIT-licensed. The existing team will continue to lead and maintain these projects for the community, now with the support and resources of Shopify. This ensures that the framework's open-source nature and accessibility will not change.

Shopify was an early adopter of Tailwind CSS, utilizing it extensively for its own platform and for customer-facing solutions.
