In hardware, AMD has released initial details for its Zen 6 Epyc "Venice" server processors, including a 256-core variant and the Venice-X CPU, both scheduled for release in the second half of 2027. The Venice-X will feature 96 cores, over a gigabyte of 3D V-Cache, and a 5.15 GHz boost clock, targeting high-performance computing workloads.

The broader Venice lineup will include the Epyc 9996, a 256-core chip offering up to 1.6 terabytes per second of memory bandwidth and 128 PCIe 6 lanes. This 256-core variant uses AMD's Zen 6c "dense" design. The Venice-X CPU was revealed at AMD's Advancing AI event and is built on the Zen 6 microarchitecture, the same as Venice SP7, which is now in production.
