Apple has integrated a new "Notify Me" tool into Safari as part of the iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27 Golden Gate updates. This feature enables users to monitor specific changes on any webpage and receive notifications when those changes occur.

Functionality and Use Cases

The Notify Me tool operates directly within Safari, eliminating the need for external applications or browser extensions. While primarily designed for tracking product restocks and price drops, it can also be used for other purposes, such as monitoring concert ticket availability or news updates on specific topics. Users provide a description of the desired change and select a polling frequency (hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly).

Setup Process

To set up Notify Me, users tap or click the three horizontal lines in Safari's address bar, select "Notify Me," and then describe the changes they want to monitor. Examples include "If the price drops below $100" or "The gray and blue option comes back in stock." After setting the polling interval, the alert is confirmed. Notifications are device-specific, so setup should occur on the device where alerts are most likely to be seen.

Managing Alerts

Users can modify or delete existing Notify Me alerts. This can be done by revisiting the page where the alert was set and selecting "Edit" in the banner, or by navigating to Settings > Safari and finding the Notify Me section.
