Saggar is a new terminal application for macOS designed to improve the management of multiple development tasks. It tracks the status of various sessions, such as running shells, dev servers, and tests, categorizing them as working, waiting, finished, or failed. This system aims to make it clear which sessions require user input or review.

Prioritized Attention Queue

The terminal collects sessions that need a decision, such as prompts or failures, into a single queue. This allows users to address critical tasks without being distracted by active but non-urgent processes. Users can navigate this queue by priority using a keyboard shortcut.

Remote Control Functionality

Saggar includes a companion app that enables remote monitoring and interaction with terminal sessions from a mobile device. Users can inspect terminals, respond to prompts, interrupt processes, or type commands into sessions while away from their Mac. This feature requires signing in with a Marginal Utility account on both devices and uses a secure pairing process.

Security and System Requirements

The remote control feature is secured by requiring account authentication and device approval during pairing, with checks on every request. The Mac connects to Saggar's relay, eliminating the need to open ports on the user's network. Saggar is exclusively for Mac, requiring macOS 26 Tahoe or later and an Apple silicon processor.
