Sony Introduces Bravia 6 OLED TV, a More Affordable Option with Four HDMI 2.1 Ports

Sony has officially unveiled the Bravia 6 OLED TV, which was previously hinted at in June. This new model is designed to be a more accessible OLED option, sitting beneath Sony's Bravia 8 and Bravia 8 II OLED TVs, as well as its Bravia 9 II and Bravia 7 II RGB LED TVs.

Key Features and Specifications

The Bravia 6 OLED TV is notable for being Sony's first OLED television to include four HDMI 2.1 ports. It features a 120Hz panel, runs on Google TV with Gemini, and supports Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and DTS:X. The TV is available in five sizes, ranging from 48 to 83 inches.

Competitive Positioning and Pricing

The Bravia 6 is priced to compete directly with models like the LG C6 OLED and Samsung S90H QD-OLED TVs. Pricing for the Bravia 6 starts at $1,300 for the 48-inch model, $1,500 for 55 inches, $2,000 for 65 inches, $3,000 for 77 inches, and $4,000 for the 83-inch version.

Remote Control Redesign

Compared to Sony's premium OLEDs, the Bravia 6 comes with a redesigned remote control. The streaming service buttons are located at the top, and a larger, more centralized directional pad is surrounded by home, settings, and back buttons. Volume and channel toggles are positioned in the lower third, and the remote includes a built-in microphone for Gemini control.
